Dawahon Island - Tabango Leyte

Include this one secluded island in your summer's bucket list!

Dawahon Island - Tabango Leyte

The Dawahon island is a tiny, triangle-shaped islet with rocky shores stretching a 500 meters in circumference. The island is called Dawahon because of the dáwa-dáwa grass (cockspur grass) that abounds in the center. There is a tiny sandy beach at the eastern tip where its crystal clear water is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, while some parts are good for cliff jumping.

Dawahon island is located 1 mile west of Burabod in Brgy Inangatan, Tabango, Leyte, and can be reached by boat that would sail 15 minutes from Burabod, 20 minutes from Libagong, or 30 minutes if your ride is from Tabango or Villaba port.

There are only two cottages for rent in the island which costs 500 and 900 pesos respectively. But, if there are no vacant cottages, you can look for a good spot around the island. There's this spot at the northern side that has a relaxing ambiance where you can have a picnic under the shade of the tree.  There's no store and restaurant in the island so you must bring your own food. Overnight stay is not allowed. The entrance fee per person is 30 pesos.

Let's go! Let's unlock the summer!
