Pulambato Beach - Libagong Villaba Leyte

This promising place I fell in-love with offers both adventure and tranquility combined. The strip of a beach has interesting rock formations on both edges while in the middle lays a quieter stretch of sandy beach.

I’ve found love in this place!

Believe me. If you want adventure and at the same time de-stressing oneself from the daily hustle of life, I would recommend venturing out to this secluded Pulambato beach of barangay Libagong, Villaba, Leyte.

Why? Because this less-known attraction of Villaba is still off-the-plan from the tourists’ bucket list, I can guarantee you that you can thoroughly enjoy a getaway in a more peaceful atmosphere away from noise, pollution, crowd, and swarming nega-vibes.

Now, here are a good spots that you shouldn’t miss.

1. Babá sa iho - Its cave opening resemble from those famous whale shark’s mouth in which the site is named after. Inside has a small area probably 3 meters wide to rest in and a good place for refuge during rain and scorching midday sun.

2. Ang baybayon - The serene ambiance of this beach can generate positive feelings well whether you’re on a solitary mode or with friends. Because it’s so peaceful here, the place ideal for those individuals who need a break from stress to invigorate again both body and soul in this healthier haven of nature.

3. Pulambato Point - The site got its name from its orangey to reddish texture of the cliff. The habagat wind will add a dramatic scene when approaching waves hit the southern tip of the strip. This long stretch of rock astounded my adventurous heart and left me with teary adoration eyes. A reason that will definitely make me try to visit the place one more time.

4. Ysorio's Private Beach - This is a popular coastal camping spot where campfires at night are permitted. A group can set up one on the beach and converse with friends for hours under the stars. Rentable huts are also available at affordable rates, but you'll need to bring your own supplies and other essentials.

How to get here:

From Tacloban or Ormoc, one can ride a van bound to Villaba town. If you’re from Cebu, you can take a ferry boat which leaves the port every 12nn from Bogo city to Villaba. Take a habal-habal ride from the town to barangay Libagong then walk for about 20 minutes to reach the beach or you can rent a boat going to the site.

There are small cottages for rent for 200 pesos but there's no restaurant in the area so you must bring your own food and also a tent if you are going for an overnight stay. A stop-over in the Villaba town would be a better option to buy food and stuff you need. There’s no electricity and mobile signal too, so you’ll be disconnected from the social media for a day which is a good thing for you so you can reconnect yourself in nature once again.
